The band that launched Joan Jett's career, The Runaways were an all-female band, during the mid-late 1970s, that became an influence and inspiration, for many future female rock stars and bands that followed, to break into the male-dominated rock music industry. Their hit song, Cherry Bomb, led The Runaways to superstardom, especially in Japan.
