CHEERS & TEARS IN CLASSIC HEAVY METAL
Let's all raise a glass to late '80s rockers, Skid Row, to celebrate the 35th anniversary of one of their biggest hit singles, 18 and Life. And that's going to be a lot easier to do with the band, as they're celebrating as well, with the release of Skid Row 18 and Life Single Origin Ultra Premium Rum. In development for a year, this spirit equates to Skid Row's hard rocking sound with an intensity and experience in line with what the fans have come to expect from the band. Featuring a trilogy of spirit crafting concepts, 18 and Life Single Origin Ultra Premium Rum features a combination of Guyanese rum making, European aging and American barrels delivering elements of nougat, toasted coconut & vanilla bean enhanced by layers of dried fruit and a chocolate finish. The idea, according to Skid Row guitarist Snake and bassist Rachel Bolan, was brewing for a while, and the band was involved in every step from creation to production.
In sadder news, former Iron Maiden singer, Paul Di'Anno has passed away at the age of 66. Appearing on the band's first 2 albums: Iron Maiden and the 1981 follow up, Killers, before being let go due to the pitfalls of the rock and roll lifestyle, Paul Di'Anno managed to have a successful career as both a lead singer and in guest appearances, with other well known rock bands. He suffered from legal and health issues over the years, the latter of which forced him to be confined to a wheel chair, but that didn't stop Mr. Di'Anno from touring. Although Bruce Dickinson has been the lead singer of Iron Maiden since Paul Di'Anno's departure, the band still performs songs from the Di'Anno era. RIP Mr. Di'Anno.
