DEF LEPPARD & MOTLEY CRUE TO TOUR IN 2023
Following up on the success of this past summer's North American Stadium Tour, both Motley Crue and Def Leppard have decided to continue the string of successful shows by confirming a tour of Central and South America, along with Europe, for 2023.
Beginning in Mexico City, on February 18, the tour will conclude on July 6 in Glasgow, UK. Both bands are equally excited about this global trek with Def Leppard's Joe Elliott saying "After finally getting back on the road and having a monumental summer tour in the U.S. and Canada this year, we're beyond thrilled to be bringing this massive stadium tour to major cities all over the world, and kicking off Europe in Sheffield where it all started for us 45 years ago. We're looking forward to seeing you out there somewhere soon!"
Motley Crue backed that up saying "We had an incredible time playing the Stadium Tour in North America this summer and we truly can't wait to take the show around the globe with the World Tour in 2023. Crueheads in Latin America and Europe: Get ready!!"
Although the North American portion of the Stadium Tour also featured Poison, Joan Jett and Classless Act, there hasn't been any confirmation on whether all or any of these acts will be joining. Also, in somewhat sadder news, Motley Crue co-founder, Mick Mars, will also be passing on this tour, as he is officially retiring from performing in concerts. He's not leaving the band, officially, but he won't be going on tour with his bandmates any longer. In an official statement released by Motley Crue, the band said Mars' retirement is "due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.). Mick will continue as a member of the band, but can no longer handle the rigors of the road."
