MOTLEY CRUE ADD 21 DATES TO THEIR FINAL TOUR
Back in January of 2014, hard rocking party band, Motley Crue, announced, at a press conference, that they were going to embark on a 2 year tour called the Final Tour and then permanently stop performing live, as Motley Crue. They even went so far as to sign an agreement, called a Cessation of Touring Agreement, in front of all the reporters present at that press conference. The band's members were, subsequently and individually, interviewed asking if this was really true, if this series of final concerts was a hoax, was the band splitting up, was this just a press stunt, etc. The band members all said that this was none of the above - that the Final Tour really was their final series of concerts. They were getting older, some have families, and/or they are working on other projects or would like to devote more time to other projects. Plus, they are now contractually bound to cease performing as Motley Crue once the Final Tour wraps up, referencing the Cessation of Touring Agreement signed at the press conference.
Well, so far, Motley Crue are holding true to their agreement. The band is currently performing shows all over the globe as part of the 2 year Final Tour. However, they have just added a few shows to the calendar - 21 to be exact! All of these are to be performed in North America, due to an overwhelming demand by fans of the band. The very last concert is scheduled for this upcoming New Year's Eve, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles - the city where the band got their start 34 years ago. Says bass player Nikki Sixx: “The demand to add more shows in North America has been overwhelming. The fans have spoken so we’ve been trying to find time for more dates in addition to the international dates on the schedule this year. We want to say goodbye to as many fans as possible so we added these shows around the holidays. No better way to spend them than with the people who have supported us over all these years.”
