OZZY OSBOURNE SET TO TAKE FINAL BOW & GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING WITH BLACK SABBATH ON JULY 5
On July 5, the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, is set to take his final bow as he joins the other original members of the band that launched his hard rock career, Black Sabbath, for one final show in their native Birmingham, UK. This will, absolutely, be the band's final show while at the same time it's their first - as they haven't all performed together in 20+ years. And though his Parkinson's Disease has progressed to the point of him not being able to walk, Ozzy's voice is still in tip top shape.
Titled Back to the Beginning, this day is sure to be one for the rock n roll history books, as in addition to Black Sabbath and Ozzy's performances, a huge number of other hard rock and heavy metal artists are scheduled to crank it up on the same stage as Sabbath. These include Slayer, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Duff McKagan and Slash, along with many others. Former lead guitarist and co-founder of Rage Against the Machine, Tom Morello, is the Music Director for Back to the Beginning.
And while this may seem like an attempt at a huge payday for these artists, all profits from the Back to the Beginning show are being donated to Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice, a Children’s Hospice supported by Aston Villa.
