ROLLING STONES REISSUE VOODOO LOUNGE FOR ALBUM'S 30TH ANNIVERSARY
Voodoo Lounge, the Rolling Stones' 24th studio album, is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year, as it turns 30 years old, and the band is releasing a limited edition reissue with some really cool bonus features.
Released in July, 1994, Voodoo Lounge was produced by legendary producer/musician Don Was and marked a lot of new territory for the Rolling Stones. It was the band's first release on Virgin Records, while also being their first without original bass player Bill Wyman. Voodoo Lounge was also the Stones' first album, since 1989's Steel Wheels release, and featured the singles Love is Strong, You Got Me Rocking, Out of Tears and I Go Wild. While Voodoo Lounge both sold well and was critically well received, none of its singles cracked the US Top 40. (As a side note, I was a bit surprised to hear that, as I remember, vividly, the music video for Love is Strong featuring a ginormous Mick Jagger towering over New York City receiving heavy air play on MTV).
The limited edition reissue is being released on red and yellow colored vinyl, with a bonus 10″ featuring single B-Sides, “I’m Gonna Drive,” “So Young,” “Jump On Top of Me,” and "The Storm" and is available now.
