SMASHING PUMPKINS REUNITING AND TOURING
As you may have already heard, the original lineup (minus 1) of Smashing Pumpkins are reuniting and they’re embarking on 34 city tour this summer, titled Shiny and Bright Tour. This series of concerts begin on July 12 in Glendale, Arizona and conclude on September 7, in Boise, Idaho. In addition, the band has also hinted at an upcoming album with producer, Rick Rubin, although, there's no official announcement confirming that, as of now.
The original Smashing Pumpkins lineup consisted of Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin and D'Arcy Wretzky. D'Arcy won't be joining in this official reunion (an unofficial reunion occurred with Corgan, Iha and Chamberlin back in 2016), which has led to publicized arguments over the last few weeks between D'Arcy and Billy Corgan. Apparently, Billy invited D'Arcy to participate but didn't make it appear that she would be asked to become a full fledged member of the band again, only an invited guest. This prompted D'Arcy to publish a series of text messages between her and Billy, during her first public interviews in years.
To promote the upcoming Shiny and Bright Tour, Smashing Pumpkins also reunited and produced a promotional video with Smashing PumpkinsAli Laenger and LySandra Roberts, the two little girls from the Siamese Dream album cover, now all grown up.
