Formed, in 1975, by Ian Fraser Lemmy Kilmister, the band's bassist, singer and songwriter, Motorhead released 23 studio albums, 10 live albums and 5 EPs. They became one of the most influential bands for many contemporary heavy metal and punk rock artists, due to Motorhead's fusion of punk rock elements, into their music, which helped pioneer the speed and thrash metal sounds. Motorhead's career came to an immediate end in December 2015 when Lemmy Kilmister suddenly passed away, after a short battle with a very aggressive cancer.
