Landing on the record store shelves in 1991 just as the grunge movement was gaining notoriety, Badmotorfinger contained the hits Rusty Cage and Outshined, and the album helped cement Soundgarden as one of the premier bands to emerge from the Seattle Grunge scene. In addition, Badmotorfinger got Soundgarden nominated for a Grammy for best Metal Performance and has been certified double platinum.
